Fayetteville, AR: CC! Week 2001

Holcomb Elementary School celebrated CC! Week with a community poster project. On Monday children received CC! pencils and began the hard work of drawing posters with the theme of “Do the Right Thing.” Students in each grade level from kindergarten to fifth grade worked with the art teacher to conceive, plan, draw, and color their own pictures. The children included a sentence explaining their work.

Matted in colorful paper, the finished posters went on display in area banks and the public library.  The local newspaper wrote an article on the posters and ran it with a photo.

“When it was time to take the pictures down,” says third-grade teacher Rhonda Lawson, “the organizations that displayed them asked if they could keep them awhile longer because people in our community were enjoying them so much!”
